Regional Water Issues: The Stonegate Village Metropolitan District is currently participating in a regional effort to provide renewable water. The District purchased of capacity in the Reuter Hess Reservoir for long term renewable water. Please note that the "sustainability fee" on your water and sewer bill generates funds specific for the purpose of long term renewable water. The Reuter Hess Reservoir ground breaking ceremony was held on September 5, 2008.
Trees: See this link for more information about trees and how recycled water affects them: http://www.denverwater.org/recycle/recycled_water_for_trees.html
A Tree Replacement Program sets aside District money every summer to replace dead or dying trees to improve the common areas. The District does not replace trees in the open space with natural vegetation.
Newlin Gulch Channel Improvements at Stonegate: Douglas County and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District have initiated a project to evaluate the need for channel improvements and stabilization along Newlin Gulch within the Stonegate area. Exhibits showing existing conditions and a conceptual plan of the proposed improvements and construction phases are attached. Final design for Phase 1 is underway with construction planned in 2009. Phase 1 improvements will focus on stabilizing the channel and protecting two underground utilities at the southern boundary of Stonegate. Phase 1 will also include improvements to drain “standing water” conditions that occur in a few low spots along Newlin Gulch and a nearby tributary channel. ** As of August 10th, residents along the border near the improvements should be receiving a flyer in the mail detailing the areas in use. For more information, contact Garth Englund, Douglas County project manager, at 303-660-7490.
Stonegate Pool and Clubhouse Improvements: The Stonegate Community Center/Pool Facility will in fact be undergoing a rehabilitation/new construction process. We will be adding one new toddler pool with water features, new pool deck, new 3400 sq. ft. Community Center building with restrooms, family changing room, interior and exterior showers, and renovation of the existing Community Center building and pool mechanical buildings. The construction is slated to start September 2009 and be completed by May 2010. This will not interrupt the normal pool season. If you have any questions, please contact the management office.
